Did you Know?
The name "Beelzebul" (sometimes spelled "Beelzebub") was a deliberately insulting Jewish term for Satan, derived from the Philistine god Baal-Zebub ("lord of flies") mentioned in 2 Kings 1:2. By using this mocking name for Satan, the Pharisees were not only attributing Jesus' works to demonic power but using the most contemptuous language possible—showing the depth of their hardened hearts.
