Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Paul's Handkerchief (the "Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

Use of the Platform

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account or use the Platform. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this requirement, and we ask for your date of birth at signup to confirm it.

Some Platform content, such as F.O.G. Jr., is designed for adult account holders to read aloud or share with children. In this use, the adult remains the account holder and is responsible for that use; the child does not create an account or directly access the Platform. If we become aware that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will suspend or terminate it and delete associated personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Account Responsibility

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose

• Upload or share content that is defamatory, obscene, hateful, or otherwise harmful

• Impersonate any person or entity

• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Platform

• Scrape, copy, or redistribute Platform content without written permission

• Use the Platform in any way that could damage, disable, or impair it

Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, engaged in unlawful conduct, or used the Platform in a way that risks harm to us, other users, or third parties. Where practical, we will give notice of the reason. You may stop using the Platform and close your account at any time via your profile settings.

Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including Intellectual Property, Disclaimer of Warranties, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, and Governing Law — will continue to apply after your account is closed or terminated.

User-Submitted Content

If you submit journal entries, Q&A contributions, or other content to the Platform, you retain ownership of it, but you grant Paul's Handkerchief a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to display, reproduce, and distribute that content as part of operating the Platform. You are solely responsible for content you submit and confirm you have the right to share it.

Intellectual Property

The F.O.G Bible translations, lexicon content, commentaries, Q&As, and all other original content on the Platform are the intellectual property of Paul's Handkerchief and Jean Paul Joseph. All rights reserved.

Classic Bible translations (KJV, ASV) are in the public domain. Attribution is given where appropriate.

You may quote short excerpts from Platform content for personal, educational, or non-commercial purposes, with attribution. All other reproduction requires written permission.

Donations and Patron Status

Anyone who has made a donation to Paul's Handkerchief is recognised as a Patron. Patron status is permanent and does not depend on an ongoing payment relationship. All donations are voluntary and non-refundable, except where required by applicable law.

Active Monthly Giving

Certain privileges — including access to RabbAI — are reserved for active monthly givers, a recurring subscription tier within Patron status. By subscribing to active monthly giving, you authorise us to charge your chosen payment method (via Stripe or PayPal) on a recurring monthly basis until you cancel.

• Auto-renewal: Your subscription renews automatically each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date.

• Cancellation: You may cancel at any time via your account settings. Your access to active-monthly-giver privileges continues until the end of the billing period you've already paid for; it will not renew after that.

• No refunds: Gift payments already made are non-refundable, except where required by applicable law.

• Changes to privileges: The specific privileges attached to active monthly giving (such as RabbAI access) are described on the Platform at the time of subscribing and may be updated with reasonable notice.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Paul's Handkerchief shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Paul's Handkerchief and Jean Paul Joseph from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, or content you submit to the Platform.

Spiritual and AI Disclaimer

Content on this Platform — including commentaries, Q&As, and devotional material — is intended for educational and devotional purposes. It does not constitute professional pastoral, theological, medical, legal, or psychological advice. Always weigh everything against Scripture and seek human community and professional support where appropriate.

RabbAI is an AI-powered feature. Its responses are generated automatically and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or reflect limitations in the underlying technology. RabbAI's output is not authoritative scholarship and should not be treated as a substitute for Scripture, qualified theological guidance, or pastoral counsel. As with all Platform content, weigh RabbAI's responses against Scripture.

Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New Zealand, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. You agree that any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Zealand. Before initiating formal proceedings, we encourage you to first raise the issue with us directly so we can try to resolve it informally.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated to registered users by email and/or an in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Platform following notification of changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
