Paul's Handkerchief exists to make the Bible not just readable, but transformative — to bridge the gap between the ancient world of Scripture and the living reality of your everyday faith.
We believe that every person, regardless of their background, language, or theological tradition, deserves access to the full, unfiltered richness of God's Word. Not a watered-down version. Not a version filtered through centuries of religious tradition. But the real thing — in all its layered, nuanced, and frequently counter-intuitive depth.
The F.O.G
The name "F.O.G" carries multiple meanings that all converge on the same truth:
Fear of God — "The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom" (Proverbs 9:10). But this is not a cringing, cowering fear. It is the awe-inspiring recognition of standing before infinite, holy, all-consuming fiery Love.
Favor of God — The remarkable truth that the Creator of the cosmos looks upon you with His favorable grace. That He is for you, and not against you. Romans 8:31
Friend of God — As Abraham was called the Friend of God, so too is this intimacy available for all who seek it (James 2:23).
Fire of God — The purifying, refining, awakening presence that transforms from the inside out.
Statement of Faith
We hold to the historic, orthodox Christian faith as summarised below:
Scripture
We affirm that the Bible, in its original languages, is the inspired, inerrant Word of God — the supreme authority for faith and life. We believe that faithful translation, careful scholarship, and the illumination of the Holy Spirit are all necessary for the Church to rightly handle this treasure.
God
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — each fully God, co-equal and co-eternal. His transcendence defies our categories of personhood in space and time. As Solomon confessed: "Behold! The heavens and even the highest Heaven cannot contain God" (1 Kings 8:27).
Jesus
We believe that Jesus of Nazareth is the promised Messiah—fully God and fully Man—who was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross as the atoning sacrifice for sin, rose bodily from the dead, ascended into Heaven, and will return in glory. We believe that the perfect Man laying down His perfect life for us is the only reason we will one day be made perfect when we see Him face to face. This perfection—and the perfecting process that begins at salvation—is a gift from God alone, and is required to be with Him, in a perfect place, forever.
Salvation
We believe that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in King Jesus alone — not by works. It is a free gift extended to all who repent (return to God) and trust in Jesus as Lord and Saviour.
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit indwells every true believer, empowering them to understand Scripture, grow in character, and walk in the gifts and fruits described throughout the Bible.
The Return of the Messiah
We believe in the literal, bodily, visible return of Jesus the Messiah. And we pray, with every generation that has gone before us: Come! Lord Jesus.
Our Approach
We are a non-sectarian platform — welcoming Protestants, Catholics, Messianic Jews, and sincere seekers from every tradition who love or are beginning to love the Word of God. We do not take an official stance on secondary theological debates (eschatology, church governance, mode of baptism, etc.), preferring instead to highlight what unites the body of Jesus rather than what divides it.
What we do take a firm stand on is this: the Bible deserves your best attention. And we are committed to giving you every tool we possibly can to help you give it that.
