Paul's Handkerchief is a space for sincere engagement with Scripture — through journaling, Q&A contributions, and other content you share on the Platform. These guidelines explain what we expect from that engagement and how we handle content that falls short.
This page works alongside our Terms of Service, which sets out the legal rules for Acceptable Use. This page explains, in plainer terms, what that looks like in practice.
What We're Looking For
We welcome comments and contributions that are:
Honest engagement with Scripture, even where you're wrestling with a hard question
Respectful toward other members, including in disagreement
On-topic and relevant to the content you're responding to
What's Not Allowed
In line with our Terms of Service, content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, hateful, harassing, or that impersonates another person or entity is not permitted. This includes content that targets another member personally rather than engaging with ideas or Scripture.
How Moderation Works
Paul's Handkerchief is currently moderated directly by Paul's Handkerchief. Submissions marked 'public' are generally visible immediately rather than held for approval before posting. If content is found to violate these guidelines or our Terms of Service, it will be removed.
Because moderation is handled personally rather than through an automated system, response times can vary. We review content as we become aware of it, including through member reports.
Reporting a Concern
If you come across content that concerns you, please let us know via our Contact Page, including a link or description of the content and why you're flagging it. We don't currently have an in-platform report button — the Contact page is the fastest way to reach us.
How We Respond to Violations
We handle violations on a case-by-case basis, considering the nature and severity of the content. Depending on the situation, this may include removing the content, contacting the member directly, or restricting or removing account access, as set out in the Suspension and Termination section of our Terms of Service. We aim to be fair and proportionate, particularly for first-time or minor issues, but we reserve the right to act immediately where content is harmful or unlawful.
