how it started
It's September 1st, 2022, Jean Paul Joseph sits down with his morning coffee, presses play on a video called "The Father's Blessing."
And the presence of God fills his 'every fibre of his being'.
This might sound quite dramatic to start an About Page, but it was. And that kind of life-changing experience when you meet with God Almighty is what all of this is about.
Meeting with God daily. Opening His Word. Letting Holy Spirit speak.
Because it's firmly and obviously a supernatural hunger for the Bible that hasn't stopped since — (from a man who had barely opened his dust-ridden Bible in 18 years) to now someone who thinks about, reads, or translates Scripture for up to 18 hours a day.
That encounter came with a commission. And Paul's Handkerchief is the result.
He now spends his days going word by word through the Bible — building on the foundations of James Strong in his landmark 1890 Concordance, and drawing on the latest in biblical scholarship using tools like Logos to research and recover the full richness of the original Biblical text for today.
So What Is This Place?
Paul's Handkerchief is a Bible study platform — but that description undersells it.
It's a community built around the conviction that the Bible is not a religious obligation to check off, but a living world to be immersed into. That the God who spoke creation into existence is still speaking through every word, every name, even every number — and that most of us have barely scratched the surface of what's there even after 2,000 years of scholarship.
Everything here exists to begin changing that. Not through guilt. Not through a reading plan you'll abandon in February. But through genuine encounter — the kind that makes the Bible the first thing you reach for in the morning and the last thing on your mind at night.
Three ideas sit at the heart of It:
☕ The Coffee with Jesus Experiences (Revelation 3:20): Daily devotional experiences designed to balance both studying the Word and devotional encounter with the Holy Spirit. Each comes with interactive activities woven in: scripture memory, Bible quizzes & crosswords, and more. Designed to feel less like a Bible study and more like spending time with your best friend. John 15:15
📖 The Bible Challenge (2 Timothy 2:15): A complete, cover-to-cover journey through all 66 books with every chapter tracked. You won't do it alone — your community walks it with you, chapter by chapter. Only 3% of Christians will do it even once, and when you do—you will get a certificate of completion.
📚 The F.O.G Bible Project (Luke 18:16): Three translations built publicly: The F.O.G (Study Bible), F.O.G Message (Reader's Bible), and F.O.G Jr. — for adults reclaiming their childlike wonder. Plus a brand new lexicon update of Strong's Concordance, restoring the hidden depths of Hebrew and Greek that most English Bibles can't carry.
This is Jean Paul's lifelong passion — and you're invited to join the club as it unfolds.
but the Word of our God will stand forever
