Paul's Handkerchief is Bible study with a difference โ going word-by-word through Scripture to reclaim the Ancient Near East context, romance, and mystery that modern translations often leave behind.
Only about 3% of people around the world who start the Bible ever finish it. The 3% Club is for those ready to break that cycle โ reading the entire Bible at their own pace, backed by community and tools built to make finishing not just possible, but inevitable. You also get a certificate to celebrate your achievement.
Bible Cafe isn't just Bible study โ it's a personal, intimate conversation with Him. Think less classroom, more kitchen table. It combines the original Coffee with Jesus experience with activities like quizzes, crosswords, journaling and more, all designed to let the Word shape your heart, not just your head.
Most English Bibles can't carry the full weight of what's in the original Hebrew and Greek. The F.O.G Bible Project exists to change that โ three new translations built publicly (a Study Bible, a Reader's Bible, and F.O.G Jr. for younger readers), plus a word-by-word renewal of Strong's Concordance restoring the depths most translations leave behind. It is Jean Paul's lifelong work, unfolding in public โ and you're invited in.
Jean Paul Joseph is the lead editor of the F.O.G Bible Project. He works from a personal encounter with Jesus first, then draws on the scholarship of respected Jewish and Christian scholars โ because the church was Jewish before it was anything else, and those roots change everything about how you read Scripture.

The Light That Reveals What Is Hidden
Beloved, have you ever stood upon a mountain at dawn and watched the sun burn away the mist? That is the word tsach โ a blazing, dazzling clarity that leaves nothing concealed. In all the Holy Scriptures, this radiant adjective appears only four times, like four flashes of lightning upon the face of the deep. It speaks of a brightness so pure that it makes all things evident, a whiteness that belongs to the sun itself. The root from which it springs, tsachach, carries the sense of being polished, smoothed, and made to shine โ as though the Creator took a stone and rubbed it until it became a mirror for His own glory. When you encounter tsach, you are not merely reading about a color or a condition; you are standing before a revelation.
The Picture Painted by the Ancient Letters
Let us look upon the letters that form tsach โ the tsade and the chet. In the paleo-Hebrew script, the tsade is drawn as a fishhook, a symbol of desire, of reaching out to catch what is needed. The chet is a fence, a barrier, a boundary that separates. Together, they whisper a profound truth: that which is tsach โ dazzling and bright โ pierces through every barrier and hooks the soul with longing for what is true. The sages of old taught that the letters themselves carry the memory of creation, and here we see that clarity is not passive. It actively reaches out, catches hold, and tears down the fences of confusion we have built. In the Tabernacle, the pure gold of the menorah was beaten and polished until it shone, and the rabbis observed that this light was not for its own sake but to make the holy place tsach โ evident, visible, and unmistakable before the presence of the Most High.
The First Blazing Appearance
The first time tsach appears in Scripture, it comes in the context of judgment and purification. In the Song of Moses, the Lord declares that His fire burns with a tsach flame โ a dazzling, consuming brightness that devours even the foundations of the mountains. Here the word carries its most literal meaning: the sun-scorched, bone-dry intensity of divine holiness. The KJV translators rendered it as "clear" in some places and "dry" in others, but the Hebrew mind understood that dryness and brightness are siblings. When the rain ceases and the sun beats down, the earth becomes tsach โ exposed, cracked, and unable to hide its condition. This is not a gentle word. It is the light that searches the kidneys and the heart, the fire that burns away every excuse. Jewish tradition holds that on the Day of Atonement, the High Priest would enter the Holy of Holies in garments of tsach white, not for ceremony but for truth โ that the one who stands before God must be stripped of all pretense.
The Shift from Surface to Soul
As the prophets took up this word, its meaning began to move like a slow sunrise across the landscape of Israel's soul. In the scroll of Isaiah, the word appears not in a description of weather but in a promise of transformation: the eyes of those who see shall not be dim, and the ears of those who hear shall be tsach โ open, clear, unmistakably attentive. The ancient sages observed that this is the language of the age to come, when the veil that covers the nations will be removed and every eye shall see the glory of the Lord. Notice that Scripture could have used the word bar for pure, or zah for shining, but it chose tsach โ a word that carries the heat of the desert sun and the stark exposure of high noon. There is no soft twilight here, no gentle dawn. This is the light that reveals every shadow for what it is, and yet the promise is that this light will bring healing, not destruction. The word bends toward redemption even as it burns.

The Passage Where the Heavens Open
If one passage carries the heaviest weight of tsach, it is the vision of the Son of Man in the Apocalypse, where His eyes are as a flame of fire and His countenance shines like the sun in its full strength. Though the New Testament writers wrote in Greek, they were Hebrew souls dreaming Hebrew dreams, and the word they reached for to describe His face was the Septuagint's translation of tsach โ a dazzling, unbearable brightness. This is the same glory that Moses begged to see but could only glimpse from the cleft of the rock, the same radiance that filled the Tabernacle until the priests could not stand to minister. The early church understood that when Yeshua ascended the mountain and was transfigured before His disciples, His face became tsach โ not merely white, but the very essence of light made visible. In that moment, the veil of His flesh was drawn back, and what the disciples saw was the eternal Word, polished and shining, the brightness of the Father's glory made manifest for three stunned witnesses.
The Gematria of Ninety-Eight
The letters of tsach carry the numerical value of ninety-eight. The tsade is ninety, and the chet is eight. The ancient Hebrew sages who meditated upon numbers saw in ninety-eight a door opening into the covenant. The number eight in Scripture speaks of new beginnings โ the eighth day of circumcision, the eight souls saved in the ark, the resurrection that came on the first day of the week, which is also the eighth day of creation. Ninety, on the other hand, is the number of completion, of a full cycle of waiting โ ninety years for Sarah to bear Isaac, ninety years of pressure that produce the pearl. Together, they whisper that what is tsach โ truly clear and bright โ comes only after the completion of waiting and the entrance into a new creation. The word shares its value with the Hebrew phrase "the breath of life," reminding us that this clarity is not a static quality but the very vitality of the Spirit moving upon the face of the waters.
How Yeshua Embodies the Dazzling Truth
Now hear this, beloved: Yeshua does not merely teach about tsach โ He is tsach incarnate. When He stood before the woman at the well and said, "I am the one who speaks to you," His words cut through the layers of her shame like sunlight through fog. When He looked at Peter after the denial, that gaze was tsach โ not angry, not accusatory, but devastatingly clear, a mirror in which Peter saw both his failure and the love that would restore him. The Tabernacle of old had its golden lampstand burning with tsach light, but Yeshua is the lampstand itself, the light of the world that no darkness can overcome. In the Tanakh, the prophet Malachi spoke of the Sun of Righteousness rising with healing in His wings, and that sun is tsach โ not a distant star but a personal fire that warms without consuming, that reveals without destroying. When He returns, the Scripture says every eye will see Him, and that seeing will be tsach โ unmistakable, undeniable, the end of all ambiguity.
Walking in the Blazing Light
And so, my friend, what does it mean for you to walk in this reality? It means that you must learn to love the light that exposes you. The tsach of God is not a comfort to the comfortable but a fire to the hidden places. You cannot pray for His presence and also cling to your shadows. The rabbis of old taught that when the High Priest entered the Holy of Holies, he went in alone, and the people waited in silence, knowing that if his heart was not pure, the light would consume him. But you have a High Priest who has already passed through the veil, and His blood has made you tsach โ washed white, made evident, brought into the blazing center of the Father's love. So let the Spirit be your searchlight today. Let every hidden thing be brought into His gaze. Do not fear the exposure โ fear only the darkness that pretends to protect you. The sun has risen, and its name is Yeshua. Walk in the light as He is in the light, and the blood of Messiah will cleanse you from all sin. This is the journey from the first syllable of tsach to the fullness of His face. Go now, and let nothing remain hidden.
