Paul's Handkerchief is Bible study with a difference — going word-by-word through Scripture to reclaim the Ancient Near East context, romance, and mystery that modern translations often leave behind.
Only about 3% of people around the world who start the Bible ever finish it. The 3% Club is for those ready to break that cycle — reading the entire Bible at their own pace, backed by community and tools built to make finishing not just possible, but inevitable. You also get a certificate to celebrate your achievement.
Bible Cafe isn't just Bible study — it's a personal, intimate conversation with Him. Think less classroom, more kitchen table. It combines the original Coffee with Jesus experience with activities like quizzes, crosswords, journaling and more, all designed to let the Word shape your heart, not just your head.
Most English Bibles can't carry the full weight of what's in the original Hebrew and Greek. The F.O.G Bible Project exists to change that — three new translations built publicly (a Study Bible, a Reader's Bible, and F.O.G Jr. for younger readers), plus a word-by-word renewal of Strong's Concordance restoring the depths most translations leave behind. It is Jean Paul's lifelong work, unfolding in public — and you're invited in.
Jean Paul Joseph is the lead editor of the F.O.G Bible Project. He works from a personal encounter with Jesus first, then draws on the scholarship of respected Jewish and Christian scholars — because the church was Jewish before it was anything else, and those roots change everything about how you read Scripture.

The Double Portion of His Name
Beloved, have you ever considered that the Holy One might reveal Himself through the very structure of repetition? The word kephel appears only three times in all of Scripture, yet its whisper carries the weight of eternity. Like a thread woven only thrice into the fabric of revelation, it binds together mysteries that the sages of old have pondered in hushed tones. The double — that which is folded upon itself — speaks not of redundancy but of fullness, not of mere repetition but of covenant confirmation. When you hear kephel, hear the echo of the Most High saying, “I will do it twice, and you shall know that I am the Lord.”
The First Unveiling of the Folded Name
The first time the Holy One revealed Himself through the principle of doubling was not in a word but in a pattern. In the creation account, the rabbis of old observed that God spoke the heavens into being with a single word, yet the earth received a double blessing. The very breath of Elohim was doubled over creation like a garment folded upon itself. The kephel nature of divine revelation appears when God calls to Samuel — twice — and when He names Abraham from Abram, a doubling of the father’s promise. Jewish tradition holds that every divine repetition is a sign of intimacy, as when the Lord says, “Abraham, Abraham” in Genesis 22:11. The doubled name is never a stammer; it is a deepening.
The root kaph from which kephel springs carries the image of a palm bent and curved, ready to receive or to give. In the paleo-Hebrew script, the letter kaph resembles an open hand — the hand that gives twice, that folds over the one it holds. When the Holy One doubles Himself in revelation, He is not repeating information; He is cupping His creation in both hands.
The Covenant of the Double Witness
Under the covenant given at Sinai, the principle of two witnesses established every truth. The sages teach that the Holy One Himself is a double witness to His own promises — He speaks, and His Word confirms. The tabernacle itself was built with doubled curtains, folded and coupled together with loops of blue, as described in Exodus 26. Every seam was a kephel, a joining of two into one. The cherubim above the mercy seat faced each other, their wings touching, forming a double canopy over the place where atonement was made.
The prophet Isaiah declared that the Lord would give a “double” portion to His people for all their troubles (Isaiah 40:2). This is not punishment but restoration — the kephel of grace. The covenant of the Holy One is never single; it is always folded into the next generation, the next promise, the next revelation. When you receive His covenant, you receive a double portion of His faithfulness.
The Reverence for the Hidden Name
The ancient Jewish people held the Name of the Most High with such trembling that they would not utter it aloud. They substituted Adonai for the tetragrammaton, and in the reading of Scripture, they would pause where the Name appeared, as if the very syllables were too holy for human breath. This reverence created a kephel — the written Name and the spoken Name, two witnesses to the same reality. The rabbis of old taught that the Name of God is like a folded scroll: you may glimpse the edges, but the fullness remains hidden until the appointed time.
The word kephel itself carries a gematria of 130 — the same value as Sinai, the mountain where the law was given twice, on tablets of stone written by the finger of God. And 130 is also the value of qol, meaning “voice” — the voice that spoke from the mountain, the voice that calls to you in the double witness of Scripture and Spirit. The number teaches that every revelation of the Holy One is a voice that echoes across the ages, folded into your own hearing.

The Gematria of the Double
The numerical value of kephel is 130, a number that the ancient sages connected to the age of Adam when he fathered Seth, the son who would carry the lineage of promise. One hundred and thirty years of waiting, of longing, of the double wound of Abel’s death and Cain’s exile — and then the birth of a child who would restore the line of the Holy One. The number 130 also equals the word sulam, meaning “ladder” — the ladder that Jacob saw in his dream, reaching from earth to heaven, with angels ascending and descending. That ladder was a kephel, a bridge between two realms, folded into the fabric of time.
When you meditate on 130, you stand at the foot of Sinai and at the base of Jacob’s ladder simultaneously. The double portion of the Spirit is not given to those who seek only one world; it is given to those who will climb between heaven and earth, who will receive the folded blessing of the Most High.
The Messianic Fulfillment of the Folded Name
When Yeshua walked among us, He revealed the double nature of the Father in a way that astonished the sages. He called God “Abba, Father” — the intimate and the exalted folded into one address. He said, “I and the Father are one” (John 10:30), a kephel of being that the religious leaders could not bear. Yet He also taught His disciples to pray, “Our Father who is in heaven,” a double address that joins earth and heaven in every breath.
The apostolic tradition teaches that Yeshua is the double witness of the Father — the Word made flesh, the Name made visible. In the book of Revelation, He is called “Faithful and True,” and on His robe and thigh is written a Name that no one knows but He Himself (Revelation 19:12). That hidden Name is the ultimate kephel: the Name that is both spoken and unspoken, revealed and concealed, given to you and yet beyond your grasp. When Yeshua died and rose again, He folded death into life, sorrow into joy, and the old covenant into the new.
The Double Portion for Your Life
You, dear one, have been called to receive the kephel of the Holy One. The double portion is not for the faint of heart — it is for those who will carry both the blessing and the burden, the joy and the sorrow, the Name that is spoken and the Name that is hidden. When you pray, you are folding your voice into the voice of the Messiah who intercedes for you. When you read the Scriptures, you are unfolding the double witness of the Law and the Prophets, the Psalms and the Gospels.
Do not be afraid of the doubling in your life — the second trial, the repeated lesson, the return to a place you thought you had left. The Holy One is folding you into His purpose, and every repetition is a deepening of His covenant with you. The sages of old would say that when God calls your name twice, He is about to give you a double portion of His presence. Listen. He is calling you now.
