But more than this, He carried the crossbeam upon His back, that wooden yoke that would become the tree of life. The early church understood that when the Messiah said, "Take my yoke upon you," He was speaking of the gav — the place where the yoke rests, where the burden is carried. He bore the weight of the world upon His back, and that back became the door through which the sheep enter the fold. In the Gospel of John, the Beloved Disciple leans upon the chest of Yeshua at the Passover meal, but it is the back of the Messiah that bears the world. The gav of the Messiah is the hidden place where atonement was made, where the curtain was torn, where the way was opened.

A Charge for Your Hidden Place

You have a back that no one sees. You carry burdens that no one knows. The gav of your life — the hidden suffering, the unspoken labor, the quiet carrying of others — is not invisible to the Holy One. He who passed by Moses and showed His back now sees yours. He who gave His back to the smiters now stands behind you, covering what is exposed. Let your hidden place become a sanctuary. Let your unseen labor become an offering. The number nine speaks of fullness, and the back speaks of faithfulness. You are not forgotten in the shadows. The One who bears all things will also bear you.
