ἱεροπρεπεῖς = "befitting the sacred/holy" — a rare compound implying the older woman's very deportment should carry a priestly dignity. F.O.G renders "holy in their bearing" to preserve this cultic weight; F.O.G Message uses "reverent in their conduct" for readability. διαβόλους = "slanderers" — from the root διάβολος ("devil/accuser"), suggesting malicious gossip mimics the adversary's own defining character.
