תְּלַמְּדֵנִי (t'lamdeni) is genuinely ambiguous: the form can be third-person feminine ('she would teach me,' referring to the mother) or second-person masculine ('you would teach me,' addressed to the beloved). F.O.G follows the third-person reading, in which the mother's house is the site of love's instruction — consistent with ancient Near Eastern traditions of the mother's household as the place of wisdom (cf. 3:4; Prov. 31). F.O.G Message renders it as 'where you would teach me,' drawing out the theme of a new household of covenant love led by the beloved.
