Naomi's question mi at bitti (מִי-אַתְּ בִּתִּי, 'who are you, my daughter?') uses the literal words Boaz spoke in the darkness of the threshing floor (v.9). The verbal echo may be intentional: is Ruth returning as a betrothed woman, transformed by the night's events? The idiom can also function as an inquiry into outcome — 'how are you?' or 'what happened to you?' FOG preserves the literal 'who are you' to retain the verbal echo with verse 9 and its depth of meaning; FOG Message renders 'how did it go' to convey the idiomatic sense in natural English.
