Μενοῦνγε is a strong corrective particle carrying a sharp edge of redirection — more forceful than a polite "O man," closer to "But indeed, who do you think you are?" The F.O.G. captures this with "O man — but who are you"; the F.O.G. Message renders the abruptness as "But who are you." The word ἀνταποκρινόμενος ("arguing back, answering against") deliberately echoes Job 40:2, where YHWH silences Job — the creature who would cross-examine the Creator.
