δισμυριάδες μυριάδων is a Greek numerical formula: two (δίς) × myriad (10,000) × myriad (10,000) = 200,000,000. The F.O.G preserves the Greek numeral formula to retain the hyperbolic, incalculable feel of the original — the number is meant to overwhelm comprehension, not invite arithmetic. The F.O.G Message gives the result in plain figures for immediate impact. Crucially, John says "I heard their number" — an auditory not visual revelation, implying the host was too vast even to take in by sight.
