He works from a personal encounter with Jesus first, then draws on the scholarship of respected Jewish and Christian scholars — because the church was Jewish before it was anything else, and those roots change everything about how you read Scripture.

γωνίας (gōnias), "corners," reflects ancient cosmological language picturing the earth as a bounded expanse with four extremities (cf. Isa. 11:12; Ezek. 7:2) — an idiom for "the uttermost reaches of the whole earth," not a geometric claim. κρατοῦντας, rendered "gripping" in F.O.G, emphasises the active muscular force of restraint; "holding back" in F.O.G Message draws out the sense of barely contained cosmic power awaiting release.
