He works from a personal encounter with Jesus first, then draws on the scholarship of respected Jewish and Christian scholars — because the church was Jewish before it was anything else, and those roots change everything about how you read Scripture.

Footnotes

"The key of David" is a direct citation of Isa 22:22, where Eliakim receives the key of the house of David on his shoulder, granting supreme administrative authority over the royal household. Yeshua assumes this role as the messianic heir of David, with absolute sovereignty over access to the Kingdom. The phrasing "opens and no one shuts" also echoes the divine sovereignty of Isa 45:1.
