Poimanei (ποιμανεῖ) comes from poimainō—"to shepherd," a word whose primary register is pastoral yet whose force here is judicial and martial. F.O.G preserves "shepherd" to hold that creative tension between care and authority; F.O.G Message renders "rule" to foreground the dominion aspect. This is a direct citation of Ps. 2:9—the royal messianic psalm—and here the overcomer is invited to share in the Messiah's own eschatological reign over the nations.
