ὁ ὅσιος (ho hosios) — "the Holy/Consecrated One" — carries connotations of moral purity and covenantal faithfulness, distinct from ἅγιος (the more common word for "holy"). Crucially, the familiar formula "who is and who was and who is to come" here drops "who is to come" — the future has collapsed into the present; the long-awaited moment of reckoning has arrived and there is nothing left to wait for.
