"A son, a male child" (υἱὸν ἄρσεν) pairs a masculine noun with a neuter adjective — a grammatically pointed construction that echoes Isaiah 66:7 LXX, amplifying the child's identity as the promised one. "Shepherd/rule with an iron rod" quotes Psalm 2:9 directly. F.O.G preserves "shepherd" (ποιμαίνειν) to keep the pastoral-messianic image; F.O.G Message uses "rule" for regal weight. The Greek ἡρπάσθη (harpazō — snatched up, the same root as 1 Thessalonians 4:17) compresses Messiah's entire career — birth, death, resurrection, ascension — into one swift act, denying the dragon any moment of triumph.
