Jean Paul Joseph is the lead editor of the F.O.G Bible Project. He works from a personal encounter with Jesus first, then draws on the scholarship of respected Jewish and Christian scholars — because the church was Jewish before it was anything else, and those roots change everything about how you read Scripture.

Footnotes

σφράγισον (seal up) directly echoes Dan 12:4,9, where Daniel is commanded to seal his vision until the end. This creates a sealed mystery inside an opened apocalypse — God's full counsel exceeds what is written, even in a book of revelation. The counter-movement is deliberate: the scroll of v.2 lies open while the thunders' content is closed. Disclosure and concealment operate simultaneously in divine revelation, a reminder that the God who reveals Himself remains irreducibly Other.
