The Greek "Alpha kai Ō" (first and last letters of the Greek alphabet) maps onto Hebrew "Aleph and Tav," conveying the totality of existence and speech from first to last; F.O.G restores the Hebrew resonance while F.O.G Message retains the familiar Greek form. "Pantokratōr" (All-Ruler) is the LXX's standard rendering of "YHWH Tzva'ot" and "El Shaddai" — it denotes the One who holds all things in sovereign grip; "Almighty" is conventional but flattens this active, totalising meaning.
