נְהָרוֹת יִמְחֲאוּ כָף (*neharot yimcha'u kaf*, 'rivers clap their hands/palms') is one of the most arresting anthropomorphisms in the Hebrew Psalter — rivers are given human hands and summoned into the liturgy of creation as worshippers. יַחַד (*yachad*, 'together') implies a solidarity of voices — mountains are not competing but harmonising in a single choir. The image echoes Isaiah 55:12 ('the mountains and hills will break into singing, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands') and anticipates the new creation of Revelation 21–22, where the whole cosmos is restored to its proper, praise-filled purpose. FOG and FOG Message render this verse similarly, since the imagery is too vivid and precise to improve upon.
