*Rahav* (Χ¨ΦΈΧΦ·Χ) here is the mythological sea-dragon of chaos β not Rahab of Jericho β appearing also in Isaiah 51:9, Job 9:13, and Job 26:12. She personifies the forces of primordial disorder that oppose ordered creation. *Dikkita kechalal* (ΧΦ΄ΦΌΧΦ΄ΦΌΧΧͺΦΈ ΧΦΆΧΦΈΧΦΈΧ, "you crushed like a carcass") is particularly violent β *chalal* refers to those pierced and slain in battle. Creation theology here is conquest theology: YHWH's power over chaos is the very ground of His covenantal reliability. FOG uses the Hebrew transliteration "Rahav"; FOG Message uses the more familiar anglicised "Rahab."
