*Nasa panim* — literally 'to lift the face' — is a well-worn Hebrew idiom for showing favour in a judicial setting. To raise someone's face is to grant them standing before the court; its opposite, 'not to lift faces,' is YHWH's own standard of impartiality (Deut. 10:17; Lev. 19:15). The *Selah* punctuates the indictment with a dramatic pause — the accusation hangs in the air. FOG renders the idiom literally ('lift the faces') to preserve its vivid physicality; FOG Message translates it dynamically ('showing partiality') for immediate comprehension.
