This verse contains some of the psalm's most difficult Hebrew. Χ€Φ΄Χ‘Φ·ΦΌΧͺ-ΧΦ·ΦΌΧ¨ (*pisat-bar*, 'a handful/abundance of grain') is an unusual expression; *pisat* possibly means 'fullness' or 'overflow.' ΧΦ΄Χ¨Φ°Χ’Φ·Χ©Χ (*yir'ash*, 'may it wave/rustle') β grain waving on mountaintops is a hyperbolic image of impossible abundance, since mountains were not farmland. ΧΦ·ΦΌΧΦ°ΦΌΧΦΈΧ ΧΦΉΧ (*ka-Levanon*, 'like Lebanon') β Lebanon was proverbial for towering cedars; grain as magnificent as its forests signals near-miraculous fruitfulness. FOG uses 'flourish'; FOG Message uses 'blossom' for the more lyrical resonance.
