*Bakkôshārôt* is a hapax legomenon — a word appearing only once in the Hebrew Bible — making translation genuinely uncertain. The root may connect to *kāshar* ("to be fitting, prosperous, successful") or to an Aramaic cognate meaning "singing / rejoicing." The contrast with *tsiyyâ* ("parched / dry land") favours a sense of abundant flourishing for the released prisoners. FOG renders "flourishing" (emphasising the reversal of circumstance); FOG Message opts for "singing" (highlighting the joyful, festal dimension of liberation — an anticipation of Luke 4:18 and Acts 16:25).
