For the choir director: set to "Do Not Destroy." A Miktam of David — written when he fled from Saul into the cave. Have mercy on me, O God — have mercy on me! For in You my soul has found refuge; in the shadow of Your wings I will shelter until these waves of ruin have swept past.
To the Choir-Director; upon Al-Tashcheth. A Miktam of David, when he fled from before Sha'ul, in the cave. Show me favour, O Elohim—show me favour! For in You my nephesh takes shelter; in the shadow of Your wings I take cover until the calamities pass by.
To the chief Musician, Altaschith, Michtam of David, when he fled from Saul in the cave. Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast.
