Footnotes
The rare word pallatsut (shuddering horror) appears only here, in Job 21:6, and in Isaiah 21:4. It describes a full-body shudder of existential terror—more than psychological dread, it is the visceral response of the creature confronting death itself. F.O.G renders 'shuddering horror overwhelms me' to preserve its physical quality; F.O.G.M 'pulls me under' leans into the image of being submerged by something entirely beyond one's control.
