Footnotes
The verb satam (rendered 'persecute'/'pursue with seething rage') means to harbour a deep, smouldering hostility—not a momentary anger but a sustained, grudge-like enmity. It is used of Esau's lingering hatred toward Jacob (Gen 27:41) and of Joseph's brothers (Gen 50:15). F.O.G uses 'in fury they persecute me' to capture its intensity; F.O.G.M uses 'seething rage' to convey its relentless, simmering quality.
