Footnotes
The word sod (counsel/fellowship) denotes intimate, confidential communion—the inner circle of trust. It is used of YHWH's own heavenly council (Jer 23:18) and of the closeness He shares with those who fear Him (Ps 25:14). The verb namtiq (we made sweet, from mataq) suggests their shared sod was not merely functional but pleasurable—a savoured intimacy. F.O.G renders 'shared the sweetness of counsel' preserving the wisdom-community dimension; F.O.G.M 'savoured the sweetness of deep friendship' foregrounds the relational warmth and loss.
