*Retsaḥ* (רֶצַח) typically means 'murder' in biblical Hebrew, but here functions adverbially — *bəretasḥ* ('as with a murder-blow'), describing the effect of the enemy's taunts as lethally violent, not merely emotionally painful. The phrase *bəʿatsəmôtay* ('in my bones') locates this violence in the deep structure of the body — grief and humiliation have become skeletal, constitutional. The recurrence of the taunt 'Where is your God?' (cf. v.3) hammers with relentless rhythm, a liturgy of contempt.
