*Eresh devai* ('bed of languishing') evokes prolonged, wasting illness. The psalm then shifts suddenly mid-verse from third-person narration to direct second-person address — 'You transform' — pulling the reader into intimate encounter with YHWH and breaking the formal distance of reportage. The verb *hafakhta* ('You have turned/overturned') carries the sense of radical reversal: God turns the sickbed itself, or overturns everything about the illness — a Hebrew idiom for complete restoration. FOG preserves both the grammatical rupture and the ambiguity; FOG Message resolves toward the implied meaning of healing and renewal.
