*Shamayim* (שָׁמַיִם) is rendered 'skies' in FOG to honour the ancient cosmological understanding of the visible arching dome overhead, avoiding later theological abstractions. The *ruaḥ* (רוּחַ) of His mouth — here rendered 'breath' — directly echoes *ruaḥ Elohim* in Genesis 1:2, the creative wind-breath that hovered over the primordial waters. In John 1, the divine Word through whom all things were made picks up this very creation-by-speech motif. FOG Message renders *shamayim* as 'heavens' to honour the theological weight of YHWH's transcendent dwelling and the majesty of His creative act.
