The Hebrew gives two musical terms together: *mizmor* (an accompanied, instrumental song) and *shir* (a lyric song)—an unusual pairing that may signal both instrumental and choral performance. *Chanukat* (dedication/inauguration) shares its root with Hanukkah; the "House" (*habayit*) most likely refers to David's palace (cf. 2 Sam. 5–6), though the psalm was almost certainly used liturgically at the Temple's inauguration under Solomon. *Aromimkha* (I will raise You high) echoes the act of being lifted—a fitting response to being lifted oneself. The rescue verb *dilitani* comes from *dalah*, to draw water up from a well or cistern: viscerally concrete imagery for rescue from the depths. FOG preserves the transliterated *mizmor* and renders the rescue image literally; FOG Message emphasises divine initiative with "reached down and drew me up."
