The verb gōḥî ('who drew me out') suggests an active, midwife-like extraction — God as the one who pulls the child from the womb. The second verb, mabṭiḥî ('who made me trust / feel secure'), shares its root with beṭaḥ (trust/security) — God did not merely deliver at birth but instilled the very capacity for trust from the first moment of life. Both participles attribute to God a tender, formative, continuous role that predates any conscious decision by the psalmist — which makes the apparent abandonment of v.1 all the more agonising.
