*Qetoret* (קְטֹרֶת) is the incense burned on the golden altar in the Tabernacle and Temple—its ascending smoke the visible picture of prayer rising to Elohim (cf. Rev. 5:8; 8:3–4). *Minchah* (מִנְחָה) is a tribute-gift or grain offering; the *minchat erev*, the evening offering, marked the close of each day's worship cycle (Ex. 29:41; 1 Kings 18:36). David reaches for the most sacred ritual acts of Israel to give weight to urgent personal prayer—a move that makes this psalm deeply liturgical in character. FOG retains both Hebrew terms to preserve their specific sacrificial register; FOG Message translates them as 'incense' and 'evening sacrifice' to make the imagery immediately accessible while retaining its priestly resonance.
