Footnotes
אֹצְרוֹת (*otzarot*, 'storehouses/storerooms') reflects the ancient cosmological belief that YHWH kept wind, rain, hail, and snow in celestial storerooms (cf. Job 38:22; Jeremiah 10:13). This is not naive meteorology — it is a pointed theological polemic: what the Canaanite nations attributed to Baal (the storm-god) belongs to YHWH alone. The verse appears almost verbatim in Jeremiah 10:13, set within an idol polemic — making its connection to vv. 15–18 of this psalm intentional and sharp.
