*Tal Hermon* ("the dew of Hermon") was renowned across the ancient Near East: the elevation of Mount Hermon generates heavy condensation that feeds the Jordan headwaters and nourishes the land far to the south. As a second simile alongside the oil, it reinforces the pattern of blessing originating at one elevated source and flowing outward to give life elsewhere — unity is generative, not merely harmonious. The verb *tzivah* ("commanded") is a Hebrew perfect/qatal; FOG renders it as past tense ("commanded"), treating the blessing as a singular divine decree at Tziyon. FOG Message uses present tense ("commands") to read the qatal as a gnomic or timeless perfect — an ongoing sovereign reality, not a one-time event. *Chayyim ad-ha'olam* ("life unto the age / forevermore") is the covenantal climax: the blessing that flows from unity is not merely temporal prosperity but eschatological, age-spanning life.
