*Pach* (פַּח) is a spring-loaded bird-trap. The image is one of the most tender reversals in the Psalter: the massive forces of vv. 1–5 are now recast as a *sprung* trap — one that broke before it could hold. FOG retains *nephesh* here to complete the arc that began in v.4: the *nephesh* that nearly drowned beneath floodwaters is now the *nephesh* that takes flight. FOG Message shifts to "we" for narrative flow and emphasises freedom as the theological punchline.
