*Zullut* ("vileness, worthlessness") is a hapax legomenon—appearing only here in the Hebrew Bible. Its root *zalal* means to be morally loose, light, or of no account (cf. the "glutton" in Prov. 28:7). The psalm ends not with resolution but with unflinching realism: the wicked still prowl—yet this final image is now held within the frame of YHWH's declared arising (v.5) and His pure, tested word (v.6), so the darkness is named without having the last word. FOG renders *zullut* as "vileness" to echo the root's sense of moral weightlessness; FOG Message uses "what is vile" to give the term a more behavioural, concrete texture.
