Footnotes
The Hebrew reads מִיָּם (*miyam*) = "from the sea" rather than the expected "south." Since the Mediterranean lay to Israel's west, "sea" and "west" (*ma'arav*) appear potentially redundant, leading some manuscripts and the LXX to read מִיָּמִין (*miyamin*, "from the right/south"). FOG preserves the MT's literal "the sea" — possibly evoking coastal and island peoples; FOG Message follows the conventional four-directional reading for clarity. The ingathering from all directions echoes Isaiah 43:5–6 and anticipates the eschatological ingathering of the dispersed.
