The grass and wildflower imagery directly anticipates Isaiah 40:6–8, where human frailty before God's eternal word is compared to withering grass. Whether the psalmist draws on Isaiah or both draw from a shared wisdom tradition, the structural move is identical: mortal brevity (vv.15–16) set in stark contrast to eternal hesed (v.17). FOG: "wildflower" to capture the unattended, uncultivated quality of צִיץ הַשָּׂדֶה (tzitz hasadeh, flower of the open field); FOG Message: "flower of the field" for its lyrical, liturgical register.
