The *ishah raʿah* ('evil/wicked woman') and *nokhriyah* ('foreign/strange woman') are near-synonyms in Proverbs for the adulteress — not necessarily an ethnic foreigner, but one who is 'other,' outside the bounds of lawful covenant relationship. The *nokhriyah* appears repeatedly in Proverbs 1–9 as the foil to Lady Wisdom: where Wisdom builds a house and nourishes life, the *nokhriyah* lures toward death. Her weapon is *ḥelqat lashon* — 'smoothness of tongue,' flattery that bypasses judgment. FOG renders her as 'the forbidden woman'; FOG Message uses 'adulteress' to make the relational violation explicit.
