Sheol is the shadowy realm of the dead — not yet differentiated into heaven and hell in the later theological sense, but the place all souls go. Its pairing with a barren womb is theologically charged: both are cavities that hunger for life they cannot produce on their own. Typologically, this insatiability points toward its own undoing — the resurrection that fills both the empty grave and the barren womb. FOG preserves 'Sheol' for its precise ancient meaning; FOG Message uses 'the grave' for contemporary readability, allowing the theological weight to emerge through the surrounding imagery.
