Alukah (Hebrew: alukah — the leech) is a hapax legomenon, appearing only here in the Hebrew Bible; some ancient versions render it 'horseleech' or a vampire-like creature. Its daughters are personified as hav hav — an onomatopoeic, guttural 'give! give!' that mimics the sucking creature itself. The numerical pattern (three... four) is a classic Hebrew wisdom device, found also in Amos 1–2 and Proverbs 6:16, building toward a climactic final item. FOG uses 'Give! Give!' to echo the Hebrew sound; FOG Message uses 'More! More!' for emotional resonance and immediacy.
