The second half of this verse (וְחֵקֶר כְּבֹדָם כָּבוֹד — *vecheker kevodham kavod*) is notoriously ambiguous. Literally: 'the searching of their glory is glory.' Three readings compete: (1) self-seeking destroys the very honour it pursues, paralleling the honey excess (the most contextually coherent); (2) 'searching out weighty/difficult matters is itself glorious,' linking back to v.2's praise of royal investigation; (3) the syntax may be deliberately ironic — chasing honour, like gorging on honey, is self-defeating excess. Both FOG and FOG Message follow reading (1) as the most coherent parallel to the first half, while the ambiguity itself may be intentional.
