נְשִׂיאִים (*nesi'im*) — 'lifting vapours/clouds,' the mists that rise with the promise of rain. In an agricultural society dependent on seasonal rains, clouds without rain are the cruelest disappointment — promise without delivery. The image indicts not merely stinginess but the moral catastrophe of a broken pledge. FOG preserves the spare, weather-report quality of the metaphor; FOG Message adds 'thunder' to heighten the dramatic contrast between the storm's impressive appearance and its failure to produce.
