*Zarot* (strange/foreign/forbidden women, plural) is theologically complex in Proverbs. It does not simply mean 'non-Israelite women' but women who stand outside the covenant bond — their 'otherness' is primarily about covenant betrayal, not ethnicity. *Shuchah ammuqqah* (deep pit) echoes the imagery of Sheol as an entrapment. The theological edge is sharp: falling into this trap is connected to divine *ze'um* (wrath/displeasure), suggesting the trap is both moral and covenantal. FOG preserves 'forbidden'; FOG Message uses 'adulteress' for immediate moral clarity.
