The plural *mal'akhei mavet* ('messengers of death') uses the same word *mal'akh* applied to YHWH's own heavenly emissaries — death here has its own divine-court representatives, underscoring the mortal gravity of royal anger. Remarkably, the verb *yekhaprenna* ('will appease/cover it') again deploys the *k-p-r* atonement root (cf. v. 6) — wisdom performs a kind of covering that neutralises lethal wrath, just as atonement covers sin. FOG preserves both the literal imagery and the atonement echo; FOG Message conveys the dramatic urgency of the royal threat.
