*Vechodseh bemoto tzaddiq* (וְחֹסֶה בְמוֹתוֹ צַדִּיק) — 'the righteous takes refuge in his death' — a remarkable statement within wisdom literature. Some ancient manuscripts (LXX) read 'in his integrity' rather than 'in his death,' softening the theological weight. The MT reading is striking: the righteous has a shelter (*choseh*, one who takes refuge) at death itself — one of the earliest hints in Proverbs of hope reaching beyond the grave. Both translations preserve the MT; FOG Message highlights the wonder of the righteous person's security at the last.
