יִרְאַת יְהוָה (yir'at YHWH, 'fear/awe of YHWH') is the governing theme of the entire Proverbs collection (cf. 1:7, 9:10) — a reverent, covenant-keeping orientation toward YHWH as the source of all wisdom and order. The contrast with יִקְצֹרְנָה (yiktzornah, 'will be shortened/harvested') is bitterly ironic: the wicked are themselves harvested like a crop cut before its time. FOG renders the promise impersonally ('adds length to life') to mirror the proverbial third-person form; FOG Message uses the second person ('your life') to draw the reader directly into the promise.
